CONCEPT

The PopUP House is a modern and unique option in a market saturated with modular living units and prefabricated traditional homes, enabling owners to “think outside the box” in terms of design and aesthetics. House Port stands apart from other offerings by delivering a stylish, highly functional house that can be purchased and customized on an affordable budget or personalized and enhanced on a larger budget. At its core, the design is minimal, which allows the owner to make it his or her own by customizing the finishing—inside and out.

House Port, Inc. is committed to living green, so our basic package is eco–friendly and sustainable. The House Port deflects the heat and cools naturally. In summer it captures cool breezes and in winter it retains insulating heat. The House Port is protection without intrusion. It creates shade without eliminating light. By extending the roof beyond the borders of the PopUP House, the area is increased by more than a third.

The PopUP House makes a perfect second home. It can be easily and quickly constructed using local labor in all regions of the country, and, once completed, it requires very low maintenance.

MATERIALS

House Port is committed to using well–made products from the U.S.A. The non–toxic, pre–fabricated interior/exterior wall and roof panels are SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) and are delivered from local vendors whenever possible, depending on the location of the construction site.

The eco-friendly panels, which are 4' wide x 9' high x 6 1/2" thick walls are many times stronger than conventional stick–framed walls. They are pre-insulated to R-26 (R-38 equivalent) exterior and interior finished with 7/16" O.S.B. (Oriented Strand Board, to which drywall and siding can be directly applied.)

Included are step-by-step building instructions (both a detailed manual and a DVD), which cover everything from delivery to completion and can easily be followed by the owner/builder or contractor. The galvanized metal House Port comes with ash grey eave trim, though other colors are available, which are ADD–ONs. It is a clear span frame that comes in either a Contemporary Flat Style or a Traditional Pitched Style. There are four red–iron, steel columns on each side, approximately 30' apart.
